Approach:

The current production lines have not reached the target OEE over a longer period of time and our customer targeted to improve the cycle time and the performance of his electric motor production line by 10%.

During the project, all 38 single production modules of the both, not linked, highly automated production lines have been analyzed on a single process level. We have looked into 8,750 single motions and have identified 1,240 as relevant. Those 1,240 motion have been analyzed in detail and have been restructured to a new process flow. This optimized process flow enabled the line to reduce the cycle time by almost 25%. Realistically a cycle time reduction of 15-20% could be reached in series production. Together with our customer, we created an implementation plan in which the line software will be mainly adapted and no investments are necessary.

We have attended our customer throughout the complete realization phase and finally the OEE was increased in average to 82%.
